Gris-gris bags traditionally are constructed with an uneven number of herbs, roots and/or curios.
Upon receiving your gris-gris (or mojo) you are free to add a personal concern (hair lock or nail etc) in the gris-gris  bag to make it even more your personal magick.
For consecration and/or extra charging you can rub a corresponding oil on your hands while performing your ritual.
Speak your petition/command in the opened gris-gris or mojo, and close it while sending it off to do it's job for you.
Energy is important, the more you give attention to your magickal works, the better the outcome.
